Values

Home

We try to center the work and experiences of self-identified womyn and trans people, poor and working class folks, queer people and people of colour. We like to speak directly to the racism and transphobia present in mainstream, North American feminism. We want to represent and speak to the complicated realities and multiple identities our collective members, guests and listeners live. We believe that there are many “feminisms” and we recognize, remember and try to work against the oppressions that people in our community deal with and embody every day.

Our collective is a diverse group of people; gender queer, poor, psychiatrized, queer, young, people of colour, former sex worker, former inmate etc. And we like to keep it that way.

Our mandate covers news, analysis and commentary of local, national and global issues from an anti-oppression, anti-racist, sex positive feminist perspective. As marginalized people, we don’t see ourselves and the people in our communities represented in mainstream media and because of this we like to centre people who are directly affected by any given news story, rather than the “experts” that claim to know about things they have not experienced. We provide a platform for  racialized, dis/abled, poor and working class, LGBTQ people to have their say and push the envelope.
